Writing a Blog Just to Write a Blog…
It’s true; I’m doing this because it is an assignment that I
get a grade for. There is no other reason. I have never jumped out of bed
thinking, “You know what I should do today? Create a blog.” I doubt I ever
will. I have jumped out of bed
thinking, “Oh shoot I need to do my homework!” And occasionally, like today,
that includes writing a blog. And so here I am.
Today, this blog is only the beginning. I actually need 8
more blogs, so buckle up, here it goes. I mean, not that I haven’t had plenty
of opportunity to write my blogs---I have. The reason why I have 8 more to
write in the next couple days is because one of my character traits is
procrastination. It has influenced my entire life. Teachers have tried their
very best to cleanse it out of me. My parents have done their best too. I have
also meant to stop procrastinating so much, but I keep putting it off. (Haha
get it?) I think it is just here to stay.
Brian Regan told a joke about procrastination once he said,
“I think the worst day was the day the science project was due. Waking up that
morning, that was fun. Your head would pop off your pillow, “oh no. That’s due
today. I had nine months to work on it and did nothing. I have a cardboard box.
I didn’t know what to do for my project so I brought in a paper cup filled with
dirt…”
So today, this is my paper cup filled with dirt. I don’t
expect to win any trophies or awards. All I’m doing is just writing a blog to
write a blog.
